AWARDS AND PRIZES
• In April 2011, Dr Susan Lim was awarded an honorary membership of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
• In November 2007, the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education (AACME) 28th Award was named after Dr Susan Lim for the Advancement in Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery
– the “Dr Susan Lim Award”. This Award was presented to 2 recipients during the Arab Health Congress 2008 in Dubai.
• Dr Mark Hoffman Award for Leadership in Graduate Medical Education by the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education. Her contribution has brought significant innovation and development in graduate medical education. This was presented to her by The Committee for Review and Recognition (CRR) in January 2007 during the Arab Health Congress 2007 in Dubai
• Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2006, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
• Dr Arthur L Bloomfield Award for Excellence in Medical Education by the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education in recognition of her contribution and the support to Continuing Medical Education during the Arab Health Congress 2006 in Dubai.
• Installation as Fellow Trinity College, Melbourne Australia May 2005 – First Singaporean and Youngest Fellow of Trinity College, Melbourne, Australia.
• Young Investigators Award at the IXth Biennial Scientific Meeting of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, January 1994. Title of the paper is “A predictive role for complement in the end stage liver cirrhosis”.
• Young Surgeons Travel Award presented by the Japan Surgical Society at the XCIII Annual Congress of the Japan Surgical Society, Sendai, Japan, 21-23 April 1993. Title of presentation is "The rectum as a novel site for islet cell transplantation - preliminary report".
• Best Free Paper Prize awarded by the French Transplant Society at the First International Congress on Transplantation in Developing Countries, Westin Stamford, Singapore, 3 May 1992. Title of the free paper is “The MEGX test as a measure of liver viability in an isolated perfusion circuit”.
• Seah Cheng Siang Memorial Prize for Best Free Paper in Gastroenterology entitled "Complement deficiency in liver cirrhosis - observations and applications. Presented at the Combined Scientific Meeting of the Gastroenterological Societies of Singapore and Australia, Marina Mandarin Hotel, 1 December 1991.
• British Society for Immunology Travel Award 1991 - Third International Congress on Pancreatic and Islet Cell Transplantation, Lyon, France, 6-8 June 1991.
• Seah Cheng Siang Memorial Prize for Best Free Paper in Gastroenterology, entitled "Extracorporeal Hepatic Support System - Research Aspects" presented at the Combined Scientific Meeting of the Gastroenterological Societies of Singapore and Malaysia, Westin Stamford, 2 December 1990.
• International Transplantation Society Travel Award to attend and present at the Transplantation Society Meeting, San Francisco, August 1990.
• Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow Traveling Fellowship, Minneapolis, USA to study under Professor David Sutherland and Professor John Najarian, 1988.
• Ethicon Foundation Travel Award, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Minneapolis, USA to study Pancreas and Islet Cell Transplantation under Professor David Sutherland, 1988.
